RLUSD (Ripple USD) is Ripple's native USD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger, pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. It dominates XRPL's stablecoin market with 83% market share and a current market cap of $348M (projected to reach $2.5B by end of 2026). RLUSD is the primary trading pair for most XRPL tokens and serves as the base currency for XRPL's DeFi ecosystem, liquidity pools and institutional settlement.

XRPL's AMM (Automated Market Maker) was activated in March 2024 via XLS-30 proposal. Unlike Uniswap or other AMMs that run on smart contracts, XRPL's AMM is built directly into the protocol — no external contracts, no rug risk, no bridge dependencies. Each AMM holds two assets, uses a constant product formula for pricing, and is automatically combined with XRPL's central order book for best execution. LP token holders can vote on pool fee parameters.

XRP Ledger base transaction fees are extremely low — just 0.00001 XRP (10 drops), currently about $0.0000136 USD. This makes XRPL one of the cheapest blockchains for token swaps. AMM swap fees are set by liquidity providers via vote, typically ranging from 0.1% to 1%. A portion of each transaction fee is permanently burned, making XRP slightly deflationary over time.
